What About Legal Research

Effective DIY legal research requires access to three essential databases: Westlaw, Quicklaw, and HeinOnline. Unfortunately, their subscription fees are often prohibitively expensive for individuals. One alternative is to enroll in an online course offered by public colleges in Ontario. As a registered student, you'll enjoy the same library privileges as full-time or part-time students, including remote access to a wide array of databases—likely including the ones you need.

However, tuition fees and course durations for these online programs can vary significantly. This means you may need to repeat the enrollment process to maintain access until your research is complete.
